Campus Credits

General information

From the fall semester of 2023, students can earn credit points in student organizations such as unissa! The responsible offices or committees of the faculty in which you are enrolled decide on the acquisition and transfer of Campus Credits to your degree program. Further details are regulated by the respective faculties. This means that you need to consult the pages linked below beforehand to make sure that you fulfill all the criteria of your faculty and will get the Campus Credits accredited! You may otherwise not be able to receive the Campus Credits.

How to track your hours

During the semester keep track of what you did, when you did it, and how long it tookusing a spreadsheet or similar (e.g.: 04.08.25,  Sustainability Week Meeting, 1h; 10.08.25, send emails to professors and work on project presentation, 1.5h;). 30 hours of invested time equal 1 credit point. If you want to get your credit points accredited, fill out the “Stunderapport” document you find above. Here you can group similar tasks together (e.g.: Sustainability Week: Email communication, design of social media materials, meetings ->  20h; Unissa Events: planning, meetings, implementation -> 10h). You will need to send both your spreadsheet and the Stundenrapport to the management of the unissa to obtain a signature. To avoid any irregularities, you will be asked by the management to send your current campus credit balance by the middle of the semester.

Below you find more detailed explanations regarding how the Campus Credit accreditation works for the respective faculties. Information for other faculties will continually be added.

Disclaimer: This information is based on the experience of unissa members. It is possible this information is no longer correct. We therefore recommend that you always check your faculty's website for any updates!

Phil. Hist. Faculty

In the Phil. Hist. Faculty you need a Learning Contract (Studienvertrag) to get the Campus Credits.

Proceed as follows:

  1. Ask a professor/lecturer to be your assessor for the Learning Contract (LC).
  2. Keep track of the hours you invest into unissa using the Stundenrapport Campus Credits and a spreadsheet.
  3. After your project is completed or you would like to receive your Campus Credits, obtain the signature of the management of unissa for your Stundenrapport.
  4. Write the LC on the services.unibas.ch website, attach the signed Stundenrapport and send it.
  5. The professor/lecturer approves or makes changes to your LC.
  6. The professor/lecturer submits the LC to the Unterrichtskommission.
  7. The Unterrichtskommission accepts the LC
  8. The professor/lecturer accepts the final LC and you receive the Campus Credits in the Wahlbereich-Mod
